Police Continue To Probe Dresden Shooting

(DRESDEN, ON) – The Chatham-Kent Police Major Crime Unit has taken over an investigation into a shoot which occurred at Dresden Raceway during the evening of May 5. The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, but police do not believe there is a public safety concern.

Emergency crews responded to the shooting around 11pm on Saturday. Guests at the race track were evacuated as officers secured the area and examined forensic evidence. The Centre of Forensic Sciences has been consulted regarding the analysis of evidence.

Upon arrival, police found Dwayne McFadden, 58, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and then to the London Health Sciences Centre for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
