Quenneville Selected To Speak At 12th Annual WESPY Awards

(WINDSOR, ON) – Dominic Papa and the Selection Committee announced today, at the offices of Unifor Local 444, the keynote speaker for the 12th annual WESPY Awards. With much anticipation, Mark Knight proclaimed that Windsor’s own Stanley Cup winning coach, Joel Quenneville, will headline the award ceremony to take place March 7 at the Caboto Club.

The yearly WESPY Awards celebrate the best athletes in Windsor and Essex County in an plethora of sports categories. This year, the Coach of the Year honour will officially be renamed the Joel Quenneville Coach of the Year award.

Past winners of a WESPY Award include Dennis Fairall of the University of Windsor, Canadian Olympic boxer Mary Spencer, and LaSalle’s Olympic swimmer Kylie Masse.

Quenneville will join an exclusive club of WESPY keynote speakers which includes Dorothy Hamill, Joe Theismann, Pete Rose, and Ken Dryden.

Tickets go on sale February 6 and will be available from Bob Reaume Sports or directly from the WESPY website.
