(CHATHAM, ON) – It may be ten months away, but Chatham-Kent has already issued a call for local service clubs to send their volunteers to a planning meeting tonight to discuss volunteer opportunities with next year’s International Plowing Match and Rural Expo.
The event will be held from September 18 through 22 in Pain Court.
Tonight’s information session will commence at 7pm at the John D Bradley Convention Centre and will last until about 9pm. Organizers are asking for each service club to send up to two representatives. They can RSVP their plans to attend by email.
To run the match, organizers have already set up a number of functional committees. Help will be needed for a wide range of tasks during the Match from co-ordinating the competition to helping out in the event’s tent city.
Promotion for the event officially started in April when the organizers introduced the IPM 2018 truck and trailer and bus. The pair of vehicles are spending the run-up to the Match travelling throughout Chatham-Kent and elsewhere in Ontario to create excitement and awareness.
The visit agenda includes large functions, events, and local parades.
The theme for the Pain Court Match is Be A Part of History.
