(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Genetics Outreach Clinic, part of the London Health Sciences Centre’s Medical Genetics Program of Southwestern Ontario, has moved from its longstanding location at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit to a new space in the John McGivney Children’s Centre.
While the same services will be provided to referred patients, at the monthly clinics led by Dr Victoria Siu, the medical director of the Medical Genetics Program, and her team of geneticists, the move to the new space will bring with it some changes to staffing. The clinic accepts patients by referral only.
There will now be a full-time genetic counsellor associated with the clinic.
Keeping this specialty clinic local and having it on-site at JMCC will offer JMCC clients and others in Windsor and Essex County the ability to access prenatal, paediatric, and adult general genetics assessment and counselling without having to leave the area.
