(WINDSOR, ON) – Organizers are calling this year’s version of the annual Job Day the, “… most popular and biggest job and career fair in Windsor-Essex … the largest and most comprehensive event of its kind open to the general public.”
Organized by the New Canadians Centre of Excellence and other community partners, the multi-sector recruitment event will enter its seventh year tomorrow. The goal is the creation of a proactive environment for job seekers in a variety of fields and will be held at the east end WFCU Arena.
The day is not all about finding a job. It also includes help related to the job-search process, including employment services, career development, education programs, continuing education, career training, and self-employment/entrepreneurship opportunities. These services are designed to help the unemployed and the underemployed to further develop their career prospects.
Last year it attracted over 1,200 participants.
More than 50 potential employers are expected to be on-site tomorrow to discuss their staffing needs. Some will be able to do immediate interviews with potential employees.
In the past, employers have included companies in the tool, die, and mold industry, auto parts makers, industrial supply companies, consumer products, residential service providers, and life insurance sellers.
The event will start at 10am and run to 3:30pm. Attendees should consider dressing for success and bringing a copy of their resume.
