(CHATHAM, ON) – On February 18, a teen was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply. He was released from custody with conditions, including a prohibition on purchasing or possessing any weapons.
On Sunday, the teen was at a relative’s house where a conversation took place between him and his relative while they were standing in the driveway. The conversation turned into a disagreement and then escalated into a physical altercation.
During the fight, the teen pulled out a weapon, but his relative took it away from him and called police.
The teen fled the area prior to police arriving.
Around 12:50pm the same day, the 14 year-old Chatham youth was located and arrested. He was charged with assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
