Tip From Public Leads To Arrest

A tip from the public is credited with identifying a suspect who was wanted in relation to the theft of lottery tickets from a Zehrs Gas Bar in WIndsor.

(WINDSOR, ON) – On June 25, Windsor Police were called to investigate a theft of lottery tickets and cell phone chargers, from the Zehrs Gas Bar, located in the 7200 block of Tecumseh Road East.

WPS appealed to the residents of Windsor to identify the suspect, who was caught on the store surveillance video. Investigators received a tip from the public and were able to identify the suspect.

On Wednesday, police learned that the man was at a business, in the 5800 block of Tecumseh Road East, where they found and placed him under arrest.

At the time he was also found to be in possession of stolen identification.

Thomas Lesperance, a 37 year old from Windsor, was charged with Theft Under and possession of stolen property.
