Numerous Calls Turn In DUI Driver

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a woman for impaired driving.

Shortly after 2:00 pm Monday afternoon, police received information from the public about a possible impaired driver travelling south-bound on Merlin Road. An officer located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

The officer learned that the woman was driving while under the influence of alcohol, and she was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

Judith Newcombe, 36 years of Stowe Street in South Woodslee, has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. She was released pending a future court date of August 4.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service received numerous driving complaints regarding this vehicle and are thanking all who made the call. You may have saved someone’s life.
