New Head Honcho At Parks

(WINDSOR, ON) – The City of Windsor has announced that Phil Roberts has been named as the new Executive Director of Parks. Since 1995 Roberts has been employed at the Windsor International Airport in roles including Environmental Coordinator, Technical Coordinator and, since 2007, Director of Operations.

Prior to his time at the airport, Roberts worked for Halton Region Conservation, developing wildlife and nature programs at the Montsberg Wildlife Centre. He then joined the Essex Region Conservation Authority as a Staff Naturalist and Hillman Marsh Parks Manager.

Roberts has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Windsor, majoring in Geological Studies with minors in Biology and Ecology. His post-graduate work includes a Natural Heritage Interpretation and Parks Public Relations certificate from Humber College.

Roberts is also involved as a volunteer with the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association, the Essex County Field Naturalists’ Club, and the Detroit River Canadian Clean-up Public Advisory Board.

His appointment as Executive Director of Parks is effective February 23.
