(RICHMOND HILL, ON) – The reality of oil prices and Canadian weather are apparent in vehicle sales results, as consumer purchasing trends begin to shift. Provincially, Alberta lost the most sales year-over-year in terms of volume while Nova Scotia saw the biggest percentage decline year-over-year.

March year-to-date sales numbers show entry level vehicles experiencing the largest decline when compared against other combined segments.

Product wise, Volkswagen had two of the star performers in the passenger car market with the Golf and Jetta both having a strong month.

Despite losing share to the Ram and Silverado/Sierra, in the first quarter, the Ford F-150 remains the best-selling light truck, and indeed the best selling vehicle.
