Scottish Crime Writer To Visit BookFest

(WINDSOR, ON) – BookFest Windsor, in partnership with the International Festival of Authors, are pleased to announce that Scottish thriller writer Louise Welsh will be presenting her latest literary suspense fiction, the first “outbreak” in the Plague Times trilogy A Lovely Way to Burn at Bookfest Windsor 2014.

This is Welsh’s sixth psychological thriller.

Welsh has combined her expertise in history, a literary style, and her fascination with crime to produce a novel that has been dubbed, “a thrilling dystopian mystery and apocalyptic whodunit.” Her work has earned her an international reputation and long list of awards.

As of December 2010, she is the Writer in Residence at Glasgow University and Glasgow School of Art.

Welsh’s appearance will be October 25 at 1:00 pm at the Capitol Theatre and Arts Centre located at 121 University West in Windsor. Tickets are just $20, or $5 for students, for a full-day festival pass, and are available online, at the Capitol Box Office, or at the main branch of the Windsor Public Library.
