Edmonton Introduces Blogger In Residence

(EDMONTON, AB) – Edmonton is a city with many stories, and many of them go untold every day. But that should change as Scott McKeen begins a six-month pilot as the City’s first-ever ‘blogger-in-residence’.

The former Edmonton Journal columnist, former City Council candidate, and passionate Edmontonian will post stories about City of Edmonton topics on the Transforming Edmonton blog.

McKeen will share a couple of stories each month about the complex organization and the people who deliver civic services to Edmontonians every day.

He was selected for his extensive journalistic skills and a talent to find the interesting, strange and even controversial side of your City’s stories. He’ll be given journalistic latitude to pursue stories about some of the 12,000 employees and an entire city’s worth of issues. It’s a big beat.

McKeen’s commentaries promise to expand awareness about civic services or spark discussion from Edmontonians. It’s your City and it’s a blog – your feedback about the posts is encouraged.

Read and react to the first post of the blogger-in-residence.
