Women Charged With Impaired Driving

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – A Tilbury woman has been arrested for impaired driving in connection with a motor vehicle collision last night.

At about 8:38 p.m. police received a report of a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Lyon Avenue and Canal Street in Tilbury. When an officer arrived to investigate, he noticed a female driver showing obvious signs of impairment. She was arrested and transported to a police station for breath testing where it was determined that her blood alcohol concentration was almost three times the legal limit.

Jennifer DEROOY, 31, of Tilbury, Ontario has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit. She was released with a future court date and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

There were no reported injuries in this collision.
