Child Pornography Charge In Harrow

Windsor Police have a 37 year old Harrow man in custody facing a charge of possession of Child Pornography.  On Tuesday June 22, 2010,  the Windsor Police Service was contacted  by a Windsor computer repair shop who advised that they were in possession of a computer which contained a large quantity of Child Pornography images.  The investigation revealed that the computer had been brought to the shop for repairs on June 18, 2010.  Uniformed officers and detectives from the Windsor Police Child Exploitation Unit attended the computer repair shop and seized the computer.

During the morning hours of Friday June 25, 2010, with the assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police,  detectives from the WPS Child Exploitation Unit attended a residence in Harrow Ont. and arrested the owner of the computer without incident.

Bryan Gregory ABBOTT – 37 years of Harrow is charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography.  ABBOTT remains in custody as detectives from the Windsor Police Service, Essex OPP and the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Section (Project P) continue to  investigate. He will appear in court at a future date to answer to the charge. 

The Windsor Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit is jointly supported by grants from the Ministry of the Attorney General for Ontario and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
