Readers who submit comments accept that they are subject to the following terms and conditions. All comments are moderated by The SQUARE’s Legal Department and subject to editing or deletion.
When comments are submitted, the decision to publish will be based on whether your comment conforms with a set of guidelines which are:
Misunderstandings are possible when electronic communication is used. Inflection is often lost. If you see something that you don’t understand please ask questions, rather than accuse or condemn. The SQUARE reserves the right to edit or delete comments that are likely to inflame passions.
- Refrain from personal attacks, hate speech, racism, bigotry, profanity or comments that may expose The SQUARE (and yourself) to defamation lawsuits. Failing to do so will result in the comment being deleted.
- Your comment should be relevant to the original post and subsequent discussion.
- Moderation decisions are final.
- The SQUARE reserves the right to close discussion on a particular issue and close the entire comments service if necessary as well as approving or restricting comments.
- The SQUARE asks for your email address in case we need to contact you but it will not be published with your comment, nor will it be published anywhere else.
LETTERS
The letters to the editor serve as a public SQUARE where you can offer your opinion, respectfully debate with your fellow citizens, and comment on topics in the public interest.
Letters may be emailed or you can utilize the form below. All letter submissions must include your full home address and daytime telephone number. If your letter is not for publication utilize one of the other contacts addresses.
Letters may be verified by telephone, so please provide your daytime phone number and indicate when you can most easily be reached during the day.
When responding to stories, columns, editorials or other letters, we ask that you provide the title and date of publication. Letters should be concise and on topic and should contain fewer than 300 words. The Windsor SQUARE reserves the right to edit for brevity, readability, and clarity. The SQUARE also reserves the right to refuse to publish any letters.
