Young Boy Attacked While Tobogganing

(WALLACEBURG, ON) – On Monday evening, two young boys and their baby sitter were tobogganing at Jaycee Park in Wallaceburg, when two dogs escaped from their yard and attacked the youngest child. Neighbours assisted in carrying the 3 year-old boy to a nearby home as 911 was called.

He was transported by ambulance to Sydenham District Hospital and has since been taken to a Michigan hospital for further treatment. He remains in hospital, but his condition is improving.

The babysitter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and she was treated and released from hospital.

The dogs were identified and have been seized by PAWS Animal Rescue. They are currently in quarantine.

The incident remains under investigation.
