Police Appeal To ID Woman

A watch and keys were amongst the items found on a woman pulled from the Detroit River on 19 February 2018. Windsor Police is hoping someone recognizes the items and can help to identify the woman.

(WINDSOR, ON) – On Tuesday morning, Windsor Police patrol officers were dispatched for a report of a man in the Detroit River in the vicinity of the Caron Avenue pumping station. Officers arrived and located the man, now on shore. He was transported to hospital for assessment.

Police then received another report of a body which could be seen a fair distance from the shoreline. The Coast Guard was contacted and they located and retrieved a deceased woman. There was no identification found on her. She appeared to be in her 50s and was wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans, and white running shoes.

The Windsor Police Major Crime Branch is investigating the identity of the woman and the circumstances surrounding her death. She was in possession of keys and unique watch.
