Leamington Council To Receive Boarding House Study

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Leamington Council passed Interim Control By-law 78-16 on November 16, 2016, for the purpose of prohibiting the use of land, structures, and buildings for the establishment of boarding, lodging, and rooming houses within the municipality for the period of one year.

In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, Council directed that that study be undertaken. The Jones Consulting Group has completed the Boarding House Study including background research, review, and analysis of existing policies, regulations, and other best practices, stakeholder interviews, locational and planning analysis, and has formulated recommendations.

The Boarding House Study will be presented to Council at its regular meeting on May 28 and is available for review on the municipal website. To register as a delegation, visit the website.
