(LAKESHORE, ON) – Lakeshore is creating a database of artists living in the town in order to build an Arts Council. The Arts Council will develop programs to enhance the arts and culture quality of life for all residents in Lakeshore.
Lakeshore is hosting an open house at the Atlas Tube Centre on June 27 from 6pm until 8pm to meet with local artists and collect information and foster discussion and communication about the project.
By collecting contact and art information, the town will be able to create a foundation for Council to establish an Arts Policy, which will support innovative art programming, partnerships to display art in our communities, and acknowledge the work and successes of Lakeshore artists.
All artists are encouraged to contact the town’s art coordinator, Amy Liu, by email before June 22 with their contact and art information. After June 22, email Terry Fink, manager of recreation and leisure.
Artists will be able to connect to other local artists, showcase their work, and promote their businesses. This project will also allow local artists to have a voice in their community as part of the Arts Council to ensure the future needs of Lakeshore artists are met.
