(WINDSOR, ON) – In the midst of a strike at Caesars Windsor, the leadership of Unifor local 444 is changing. President James Stewart announced earlier this year that he would not seek re-election after being in the position for less than a year. Stewart took over as president in August last year when Dino Chiodo moved on to the national body.

Dave Cassidy has been acclaimed as president of the 12-member executive board ahead of the May 22 election after running unopposed. Cassidy has been secretary-treasurer for the past nine years.

Stewart will carry on as the local’s secretary-treasurer.
