(WINDSOR, ON) – Tickets for the arrival in town of the man behind some of the greatest music to come out of California, go on sale on Friday. Brian Wilson, of Beach Boys fame, brings his Pet Sounds Final Performances Tour to Caesar Windsor on May 4.
Much of Wilson’s work, including the seminal Pet Sounds, came out of the band’s competition to be equal to or better than the Beatles. The effort caused the Californians to adopt Beatles-style haircuts and to add a lot more music to their original sun and surf songs.
Wilson will be joined on stage by Al Jardine, one of the original Beach Boys. The band included two of Wilson’s late brothers.
Wilson was one of the most influential composers of the last century. According to Wilson’s publicity, he was barely out of his teens when he began to, “create some of the most beloved records ever- nine consecutive ‘gold’ albums that featured such classics as Surfer Girl, In My Room, I Get Around, Don’t Worry Baby, Fun, Fun, Fun, Help Me Rhonda, and California Girls. These are just a handful of the more than two dozen Top 40 hits Wilson co-wrote, arranged, produced, and performed with his family band.”
After considerable success in the pop music industry, Wilson turned serious in 1966 and produced three long play records which, arguably, forever changed the course of popular music. One of them was Pet Sounds, the name of the current tour.
