Winter Weather Takes A Toll

(WINDSOR, ON) – Yesterday afternoon, the OPP responded to a collision on Highway 401, near Duart Road, where the driver of a Ford Focus lost control of the vehicle and traveled through the median, and into the eastbound lanes.

There the driver struck a Hyundai Santa Fe. Three people from the Santa Fe were transferred to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 401 was closed while emergency crews removed the vehicles.

At around the same time yesterday afternoon, the OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on North Talbot Road, between County Road 8 and Cameron Sideroad, in Kingsville.

A Chrysler minivan, traveling westbound on North Talbot Road, was struck by a grey Ford, which was travelling east.

The sole occupant of the Chrysler suffered minor injuries from the collision and was transported to an area hospital.

The occupants of the Ford, a boy, 4, and his father, were transferred to hospital with serious injuries.

North Talbot Road, between County Road 8 and Cameron Sideroad, was closed for several hours while the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators completed their investigation.
