Windsor Police Not At Fault For Man’s Injury

(WINDSOR, ON) – The director of Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit, Tony Loparco, has closed the investigation into an incident in Windsor in which a man jumped from a roof and injured his leg.

On September 11, Windsor Police Service received a 911 call reporting a fight in a home in the Ottawa Street and Parent Avenue area. When officers arrived, a man, 26, jumped from the roof of the residence landing on a cement driveway and fracturing his lower left leg.

“The complainant declined to participate in the SIU investigation,” said Loparco. “Further, the available evidence shows that WPS officers did nothing to contribute to the man’s injury. Accordingly, I have terminated the investigation into this incident.”
