(WINDSOR, ON) – On April 15, the Windsor Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit commenced an investigation after learning of a relationship between a young teenage girl and an adult male. The relationship began approximately a month ago.
Officers have learned that the man sent a private message to the girl on a social media and that the conversations continued on a different social media site and and through text messaging.
A plan was made to meet in person and the man picked up the girl in a vehicle and took her to a parking lot, where she was sexually assaulted.
Detectives were able to identify the man and, on April 17, they arrested him without incident.
John-Clyde Rempillo, 18, from Windsor, has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16 years, and telecommunication with person under or believed under 16 years for a specific criminal offence.
The investigation is on-going.
