Winds Force Truck Into Ditch

(CHATHAM, ON) – Yesterday afternoon, the OPP responded to a collision on Highway 40 near Fairview Line where a tractor trailer was forced off the road and rolled over in the ditch.

The investigation revealed that, due to high winds, the tractor trailer was blown off the road and into the ditch. There was extensive damage to both the tractor and trailer.

The driver was treated by EMS personnel and released at the scene.

Highway 40 was closed in both direction as of 8:30am this morning for the clean-up of the vehicle and debris. It is estimated that the road will be re-opened around 10:30am.
