Transport Rolls At Bloomfield Ramp

A Chatham man was charged with careless driving after the transport truck he was operating rolled at the Bloomfield Road exit from Highway 401 on 5 April 2017.

(CHATHAM, ON) – Yesterday around 9:30am, the OPP began an investigation into a collision on Highway 401, at the Bloomfield Road exit, involving a tractor trailer. Officers have learned that the eastbound truck was exiting the highway and lost control, subsequently rolling into the ditch.

The driver was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries.

The Bloomfield off ramp was closed for approximately six hours to clean up the debris and recover the vehicle.

The driver, Gerald Howes, 61, of Chatham, was charged with careless driving.
