Thamesville Arson Suspect Identified

A 46 year-old man is in custody after a fire gutted a home on Dew Drop Line in Thamesville on 4 March 2017. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called to investigate.

(THAMESVILLE, ON) – On March 4, emergency crews responded to a structure fire at 23575 Dew Drop Line, in Thamesville. The house was fully engulfed upon the arrival of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and the Chatham-Kent Fire Department.

Police have learned that there was no one inside when the house was on fire. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $125,000.

Investigators received a report that the owner of the house was seen driving away from the property as smoke was coming out of the windows.

Alfred Rose, 45, of Dew Drop Line in Thamesville, was located a short time later and arrested. Rose has been charged with arson and is currently in custody.
