(PETROLIA, ON) – On Saturday April 29, OPP officers saw a vehicle being operated in a suspicious manner, in the area of LaSalle Line and White Pine Road, in Brooke-Alvinston Township. A traffic stop was conducted and the officers spoke with the driver.
Police suspected that the man was impaired, due to the consumption of alcohol, and he was arrested and transported to the OPP’s Lambton detachment in Petrolia, for breath testing. The tests resulted in readings almost twice the legal limit.
A subsequent search of the vehicle also located a small quantity of open alcohol.
Jamie Bruce MacKinlay, 36, of St Clair Township, was charged with driving while impaired, driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood, and driving with an open container of liquor. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on May 29.
