(WINDSOR, ON) – Another year has been added to the Gordie Howe Bridge timeline. Being reported as “new” criteria, the separated pedestrian and bike lanes and community benefit requirements for Delray residents are the excuses given for the delayed start to the project.
Originally scheduled to open in 2020, bids on the project are now not due until the summer of 2018. A winning bid is now expected to be announced at the end of next year.
With an estimated 3.5 year project completion time frame, the bridge won’t be finished until 2023.
