(WINDSOR, ON) – Reading, PA, based Penske Truck Leasing has added a small service centre in Windsor, offering the local commercial and personal-use market additional access to its fleet of rental trucks. The company will also offer contract truck fleet maintenance services.
The new facility will be operated out of a four-bay. 10,400 square-foot shop west of Huron Church Road, north of EC Row Expressway. One of the bays is a wash bay.
The move into Windsor is part of a plan the company has to expand its operations in Canada following the purchase of Rentway in 2000. Penske has built operations in most major cities in Ontario, including considerable coverage in Toronto and is active in London.
All of this is part of what Dan O’Boyle, an executive in Penske’s north central region, says is a plan for, “… steadily and strategically increasing our presence in Canada and the Ontario region specifically.”
Penske Truck Leasing is a partnership of Penske Corporation, Penske Automotive Group, GE Capital Holdings, and Mitsui and Co. Currently the company has more than 250,000 road-ready rentable vehicles at some 1,000 locations in North America as well as South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
This is not Penske’s first move into Windsor. Its website lists Windsor’s AAA Stock-n-Lock self-storage as a rental truck location. The company will continue renting Penske vehicles even with the new sole-branded Penske location.
