Murder Charge Laid In Belle River Death

(BELLE RIVER, ON) – Last Thursday, the OPP commenced an investigation into the death of a Windsor teen which occurred in Belle River shortly before 10:00pm. Police suspected that a murder had taken place when the youth was killed during an incident involving several people investigators termed “combatants.”

The victim has been identified as Marcus Pierce, 18.

Police say that two others involved in the altercation, two male teens aged 17 and 14, both from Windsor, were also injured in the altercation.

A Lakeshore youth, 17, was arrested in connection with this investigation. He has been charged with second degree murder and with two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

The accused, who cannot be named due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been remanded in jail until July 27, to set a court date for a bail hearing.
