Marina Collision Leaves Woman In Serious Condition

(LAKESHORE, ON) – The OPP is requesting help from the public following a collision at the Belle River Marina on Saturday. A Cambridge woman, 31, was seriously injured when she was ejected from an 18-foot fishing boat around 4:20pm.

Stephen Elzinga, 34, of Caledonia, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vessel causing bodily harm and with operating a vessel with over 80mg of alcohol in his blood causing bodily harm.

A number of people were believed to have witnessed this collision and are asked to contact the OPP’s Essex County Major Crime Unit at 519-723-2491 to assist with the investigation. Elzinga will appear in a Windsor court on November 28.
