(LaSALLE, ON) – Once again, the LaSalle Police Service is organizing the Student Chief for the Day as part of Police Week. This year, the event is taking place during the week of May 14 through 20.
The student chosen would be involved in a number of activities related to their duties as Chief for that day. The student will be picked up from their residence or school in the morning and returned to their school prior to dismissal.
Teachers are encouraged to nominate students for consideration for Student Chief by sending LaSalle Police a letter of recommendation, by creating a video on YouTube, or by writing an essay. Last year’s Student Chief for the Day was picked based on her essay submission.
This year, students can nominate themselves or a friend, by sending LaSalle Police a 30 to 60 second video nomination on YouTube. The video must be privatized and the link must be sent via email.
If you are submitting a written essay, it must be less than 700 words.
To be eligible, the student must be between the ages of 11 and 13, and be either a resident of LaSalle or attending a LaSalle school or home school program, within the town.
Send nominations to the attention of the Community and Corporate Affairs Officer by email or by fax at 519-969-2662. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, April 28.
