LaSalle Celebrates Canada 150

(LaSALLE, ON) – To celebrate Canada’s 150 year anniversary, internationally recognized artist Lewis Lavoie and his Mural Mosaic team, based in Sturgeon County, AB, are launching a bold undertaking.

Over a two-year span, their goal is to create a mural involving all provinces and territories, which will include over 80,000 paintings and 150 individual murals which, when united, will form one gigantic mural mosaic.

The mural, if ever connected, would be over 365 meters wide, or four football fields, and 2.5 meters, or 8 feet, high.

The Mural Mosaic team will be in LaSalle on April 6, 7 and 8 and the community is invited to help paint LaSalle’s mural. The artists and residents will converge at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex to complete he project.

Once finished, the mural will be unveiled on July 1 to celebrate Canada Day. It will then stay in LaSalle as an historical legacy to commemorate Canada 150.

Advanced reservations are encouraged as space is limited. Call 519-969-7770 x1221 or email for more information.
