Health Unit Warns About Public Smoking

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is sending out a message on Facebook to remind citizens about Windsor’s By-Law 113-2006 amendments. The changes to the by-law, first passed on June 12, 2006, now prohibit smoking on more city-owned properties.

The Health Unit says the definition, “… of smoking includes cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-cigarettes, hookah/waterpipes, and any other lighted or heated equipment used to smoke or vaporize any tobacco or non-tobacco product.”

Windsor has been adding updated non-smoking signs at the entrance to parks throughout the city.
