(RUTHVEN, ON) – Over this past weekend, the 16th annual Sun Parlour Rodeo drew plenty of local cowboys and country-loving fans to the yearly fundraiser for Leamington-area health care. Over the years about $330,000 has been raised by the event for beneficiaries such as the Leamington District Memorial Hospital, WE Care for Kids, and the local campus of the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.

First conceived by John Pavao, the IPRA sanctioned rodeo is now organized each year by family members and presented by the Rawhide Rodeo Company. The event attracts an international selection of competitors as well as 1000s of fans for the 6th rodeo on the 2017 circuit.

The Sun Parlour Rodeo provided competitive events including bareback riding, saddle broncs, mutton busting, steer riding, calf roping, barrel racing, and bull riding as well as an appearance by the Canadian Cowgirls and rodeo entertainer Brinson James.
