(POINT EDWARD, ON) – On Saturday before midnight, the OPP were called to the Canadian Border Services at the Bluewater Bridge, in Point Edward, to assist with an alleged fraud investigation.
Police were informed that a small group of people had been crossing through the CBSA checkpoint when they were directed to report to secondary inspection. The search revealed that the three were allegedly in possession of stolen property and materials and tools used in the production of fraudulent credit cards.
The OPP’s Lambton County Crime Unit has commenced an investigation. Due to being a very complex incident, and involving various jurisdictions and policing services, and additional information will be released at a later date.
Three people are currently in custody.
