Shop With A Cop Huge Success

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – Officers from the Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) and Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment joined forces to make Christmas brighter for 51 deserving youth from across Chatham-Kent.

On December 19, 2015, the youth were treated to a morning of shopping, accompanied by a police officer as their ‘personal shopper’ followed by a buffet style breakfast.

The day included a demonstration of police equipment by the CKPS Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), a magic show, face painting, balloon animals, cookie decorating, a horse and wagon ride, and gift wrapping.

No Christmas event would be complete without a visit from Santa, who spent time with each child and their officer before sending them home with a bag full of treats.
