Police Bust Northern Coke Pipeline

(RED LAKE, ON) – Officers from the OPP’s Red Lake detachment conducted a several-month-long Controlled Drugs and Substances Act inter-provincial trafficking investigation, with the assistance of Winnipeg Police Service and Treaty Three Police Service.

As a result of the investigation, on January 12, a substantial amount of cocaine, which was destined for the municipality of Red Lake, was intercepted.‎ A 2005 Chevrolet truck and 1.75 pounds of cocaine were seized and two men were arrested and charged.

Subsequently, four CDSA search warrants were executed‎ in Red Lake with the assistance of the OPP’s Red Lake, Dryden, and Kenora detachments, and the North West Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and Treaty Three Police Service.

Police seized approximately 135 grams cannabis resin (hash), 30 grams marihuana, 7 grams cocaine, approximately $7,000 cash, and other evidence of drug trafficking. The total value of the drugs seized is $62,400, in addition to the cash.

Marshall Dansereau, 32, of Red Lake has been charged with Possession of Schedule 1 Substance (cocaine) for the purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000.

Joseph Koroscil, 32, of Red Lake, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (cocaine) for the purpose of Trafficking.

Brendan Williams, 33, of Red Lake, has been charged with Possession of Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) for the purposes of trafficking, Possession of Schedule 2 (cannabis resin) for the purposes of trafficking, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000.

Jeremy Brouillard, 33, of Red Lake, has been charged with Possession of Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) for the purposes of trafficking, Possession of Schedule 2 (cannabis resin) for the purposes of trafficking, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000.

Dansereau and Koroscil remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing while Williams and Brouillard were released by way of a promise to appear in Red Lake Court on February 25.
