(SARNIA, ON) – Sarnia Police Service is increasing patrols and surveillance of the former Sarnia General Hospital, after ongoing concerns from the public.
The 115-year old hospital has been been boarded-up since November 2011.
Police say five individuals have been arrested, since January 20, for breaking into the building causing, mischief, committing theft, and breaching probation.
An ongoing legal battle between Bluewater Health and the City has prevented demolition or sale of the building. The Superior Court heard closing arguments earlier this year and will issue its decision shortly.
In the meantime, the public is advised to contact Sarnia Police at 519 -344-8861 with any helpful information that may assist in ongoing incidents at the site.
