Giller Prize Nominees At BookFest Windsor

leroux-party-wall(WINDSOR, ON) – Congratulations to Catherine Leroux, translator Lazer Lederhendler, and Windsor’s Biblioasis on being shortlisted for Canada’s most prestigious literary fiction award, The Scotiabank Giller Prize.

The winner will be announced November 7, but you can hear Leroux in Windsor on November 5 at 3:00pm.

Congratulations also to Gary Barwin, a favourite visitor to BookFest Windsor and to his publishers Random House of Canada. Come and hear Barwin also at BookFest Windsor on November 5 at 2:00pm.

Did you know that BookFest Windsor brings authors to schools and libraries in the Windsor-Essex community? BookFest is partnering with the Windsor Public Library to bring two wonderful storytellers representing all three of Canada’s coasts.

Both¬† Inuit storyteller Michael Kusugak and Charis Cotter will join LaSalle’s Martha Martin and Toronto’s Jenny Kay Dupuis at BookFest on November 5, while Melanie Florence (GECDSB) and Dupuis (WEDCSB) will be visiting area schools.

Kusugak will be sharing stories from his childhood living in the north and Cotter brings folktales and tingling ghost stories from Newfoundland and Labrador.
