Young Cyclist Killed In Collision

(WILMOT, ON) – The OPP is investigating a fatal collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle that occurred Monday, shortly before midnight.

Two cyclists were travelling on Highway 7/8, west of Nafziger Road, in Wilmot, with one of them in the left lane and the other rider on the shoulder of the road. A vehicle approached the two and struck the cyclist who was in road lane.

The cyclist, a 15 year-old boy from Baden, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at hospital.

Highway 7/8 was closed in both directions while members of the Traffic Support Unit conducted the technical collision investigation.
