Windsor Woman Held On Manslaughter Charge

By Matthew D’Asti

(WINDSOR, ON) – On August 3 shortly before noon, Windsor Police were dispatched to a multi-unit residence, in the 200 block of Pratt Place, regarding a death investigation. Upon arrival, police met with Essex-Windsor EMS who indicated that a man inside an apartment unit was deceased.

Police spoke with the complainant outside the apartment and she advised officers that she was a roommate of the deceased and had found him unresponsive prior to calling 911.

Windsor Police completed an investigation and learned that the roommate had injected the 51 year-old man with an unknown drug prior to going to bed. Officers executed a search warrant at the home and seized several syringes from inside the residence.

The next day, police arrested the roommate, Dana St Louis, 48, in relation to the investigation.

A post mortem examination was scheduled to be conducted in London, and toxicological samples taken will be submitted to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.

St Louis, of Windsor, is charged with Manslaughter and Criminal Negligence Causing Death.
