Police Quell Knife-Throwing Incident

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – Tuesday morning, a woman and her common-law husband began arguing in their kitchen. The incident escalated into a physical altercation as the woman threw a kitchen knife at the man, narrowly missing him.

Officers responded to the domestic disturbance and, upon advising the woman she was under arrest, she resisted getting handcuffed and tried to flee from the officers.

The woman was taken into custody and transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters.

The 23 year-old Dover Township woman was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and resist peace officer. She was transported to the court house and released with conditions, pending a future court date of August 12.
