(COLCHESTER, ON) – Wine lovers and Windsor-Essex enthusiasts will find everything they love at the 21st Annual Vintage Tasting, hosted by North 42 Degrees Estate Winery, on August 9.
The Grape Growers of Ontario is presenting the 21st Annual Vintage Tasting event at the North 42 Degrees Estate Winery at 130 County Road 50 East in Colchester, on Sunday, August 9 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The event will showcase the wines of all the Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC) wineries including Colio, Cooper’s Hawk, CREW, Muscedere, North 42 Degrees, Oxley, Paglione, Viewpointe, Sprucewood Shores, Pelee Island, and Mastronardi.
Executive Chef Steve Meehan of the St Clair College Centre for the Arts has prepared a menu of locally sourced foods to accompany the many great wines that will be available for tasting. Meehan and his team will be on site, delivering their culinary masterpieces to 400 guests.
Guests will indulge in their food and wine while enjoying the musical talents of saxophonist Ray Manzerolle, of Windsor. Manzerolle spent more than a decade touring the world with guitarist Earl Klugh. He is known for his versatility, performing modern jazz, soul, R&B, rock, and more.
Manzerolle will be performing jazz throughout the afternoon.
For those looking to further their knowledge of all things wine, EPIC has arranged for world-renowned speakers Tony Aspler and Will Predhomme to present during the event for an additional $10 fee, respectively.
Aspler is Canada’s leading wine writer, having spent 21 years as the Toronto Star’s wine columnist and has authored 16 books on wine and food.
Predhomme has been proclaimed as one of the best sommeliers in Canada and will speak to the calibre of this region’s wines.
Attendance of these seminars is optional.
In addition, Izabella Muzzin, winemaker and co-owner of the Butcher of Kingsville, will be on site demonstrating how to pair wine with an assortment of delicious cheeses, and Chef Benjamin Leblanc-Beaudoin, of the Iron Kettle Bed and Breakfast, and who recently appeared on Chopped Canada, will help guests sharpen their culinary skills by offering some tips and tricks.
