(TORONTO, ON) – The thunderstorm that started Sunday afternoon, across southern Ontario, brought significant lightning causing power outages to Hydro One’s distribution system. Hydro One crews assessed damage and started repairs.
“We are committed to restoring power as quickly and as safely as possible to our customers and have brought in additional resources to assist with restoration efforts,” said Jon Rebick, Hydro One’s Vice President of Lines and Forestry. “We appreciate our customers’ patience as our crews continue restoring power across Ontario.”
There were 47,157 customers without power. Hydro One strongly urges people to take extra precaution near fallen power lines.
Power is expected to be restored by later today in most locations except for one incident near Goderich, where work should be completed by tomorrow afternoon.
