(WINDSOR, ON) – The 29th Annual Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres will feature 20 of Windsor’s finest food and beverage establishments, and will be held by presenting sponsor Caesars Windsor in the Augustus Ballroom on May 21. This event has been supported by the community for 29 years and has raised over $1.5 million for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex youth mentoring programs.

Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres has transformed from a gala into an after business, interactive, networking event. Compared to an indoor food and drink festival, the idea is interaction.

This refreshing non-gala style of event encourages guests to come as you are after work, schmooze with some of Windsor’s best food and beverage establishments, and enjoy creative cuisine, drinks, and networking.

Food participants will battle it out in this exciting competition for their chance to win two awards.

This year’s competitors are representing 20 area restaurants and beverage producers.

  • Caesars Windsor
  • Iron Kettle Bed and Breakfast
  • Rochester Place Resort
  • Smashed Apple Gourmet Catering
  • The Suite
  • Thyme To Go
  • Bourbon Tap and Grill
  • Nero’s Steakhouse
  • Rino’s Kitchen
  • Snack BBQ
  • Sushi Guru
  • Willistead Restaurant
  • BREW
  • Colchester Ridge Estate Winery
  • Muscedere Vineyard Estate Winery
  • Oxley Estate Winery
  • Pelee Island Winery
  • Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery
  • Walkerville Brewery

Guests will have a chance to be food critics and vote for their favourites to win the People’s Choice Award, while a panel of expert judges will choose the Critic’s Choice Award winners. Guests will also enjoy bidding on silent auction items, entering the raffle, and live music by Jake Van Dongen.

Don’t miss your chance to be a food critic. Come on out and vote for your favourite.

All funds raised support five youth mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex, which currently provides services to over 600 children in our community.

Tickets are only $85 each, and group tickets are available, by calling 519-945-6232 ext13 or by visiting online.
