By Brian Worrall

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is urging citizens to call ahead, before visiting municipal facilities, as weather conditions are causing service delays and disruptions. The Municipality of Chatham-Kent telephone number is 519-360-1998. Or contact the municipality by email.

The Tourism Advisory Council Meeting scheduled for 6:00 pm tonight is cancelled due to the inclement weather.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent Public Works Department has declared a snow emergency

Parking of vehicles on municipal streets and roads will be prohibited until 4:00 pm on Wednesday.

Emergency vehicles, citizens and local businesses all depend on streets and roads to be clear for passage. This action is required to enable snow ploughs to clear away the snow as safely and efficiently as possible.

Chatham-Kent is asking for the support of motorists to make every effort to move their vehicles off all Municipal streets and roads.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has reminded motorists to allow extra time to reach their destination today. Roads are snow covered and visibility is reduced in some areas.

Please ensure you drive according to the road and weather conditions.
