(WINDSOR, ON) – Windsor Spitfire left-winger, and Calumet, MI, native Benjamin Johnson was arrested early this morning by Windsor Police Services and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
The charges stem from a complaint by a 16 year-old girl who reported an alleged incident involving Johnson in the woman’s restroom at Mynt Nightclub, in downtown Windsor, on Sunday. Originally, the victim was reported as 17 years of age.
Officers attended Metropolitan Hospital and spoke with the victim and she was able to give police Johnson’s name as the accused. At approximately 3:55 am, Windsor Police attended an address in the 11000 block of Rockland Street where Johnson was arrested without incident.
The location of the assault at the nightclub has been secured by police for expert forensic examination.
After news of the assault broke, police were then contacted by a 20 year-old female regarding another incident, involving Johnson (18), that reportedly took place three weeks ago at a bar located at 2100 Wyandotte Street West.
Police are continuing to investigate both instances. If anyone has any information in relation to this investigation please call police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
