Road Safety Week

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – May 14th -21st, 2012 is Canada Road Safety Week, a national campaign to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world.  The week has been strategically chosen, as it is the first ‘summer’ long weekend.  More people are travelling and traffic collisions are more frequent.  The focus of Canada Road Safety Week will be on behaviours that reduce risks for all motorists: sober and alert driving, seat belt use and refraining from all aspects of aggressive driving.

All motorists should expect to see more officers engaged in these activities this week with a focus on traffic enforcement.  In support of Canada Road Safety Week, the Chatham-Kent Police Service will be increasing their RIDE spot checks and regular patrols.
